Welcome to Rafiki

We want to hear your story.

Rafiki is a free in house tool that let’s anyone submit their MOJO (mobile journalism) stories to Minority Africa.

We believe in democratizing the power of who gets to tell minority stories. Decentralization of this power means not just that more stories come to the fore, but that there will be a change in the perspective and quality of mojo stories.

There is no prior requirement for you to be a journalist, but if you have a MOJO story focusing on African minorities with a solutions angle, then please send it our way. We will pay you a token for your stories of under 120 seconds and we’re less likely to publish longer pieces.

We have a free submission portal further down this page which collects basic information and a Google Drive or Dropbox link to your story. Please submit one story per time and ensure that your files should they exceed one are collected into one folder. We will not accept stories that have been published on Youtube, Vimeo or elsewhere.

After your content has been submitted, you will hear from us within 10 days of submission. Should you not, then it would mean that we will not be publishing your piece at this time. If it’s urgent and you need a quicker response time, please flag it as urgent and time sensitive when submitting but only do this if it is really urgent or we can blacklist your email for spamming. Enquiries and follow ups should be directed to the MOJO Editor, Silas Muwonge: mojo@minorityafrica.org.
