Minority Africa is looking for a Project Manager to join our Fellowship team on a half-time basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and successful execution of our fellowship program. You will work closely with a diverse group of fellows, stakeholders, and team members to ensure the smooth operation of the Minority Africa Fellowship and the achievement of project goals. You will work directly with our Fellowship Manager, Deepshikha Parmessur.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management: Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for fellowship programs. Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to established schedules and milestones. Proactively identify and address any potential issues or risks to keep projects on track.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various stakeholders, including internal teams, partner organizations, and program participants, to gather requirements, establish project objectives, and define deliverables. Foster effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Fellowship Coordination: Coordinate all aspects of the fellowship programs, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, and ongoing support of fellows. Serve as the primary point of contact for fellows, addressing their inquiries, providing guidance, and facilitating networking opportunities and professional development activities.
- Resource Allocation: Identify and allocate necessary resources, including personnel, tools, and materials, to ensure the successful implementation of fellowship projects. Collaborate with relevant departments to secure funding and other resources required for program execution.
- Reporting and Evaluation: Develop and implement a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework to track the impact and success of fellowship programs. Generate regular reports and presentations to communicate program outcomes and key metrics to internal and external stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of fellowship programs. Stay updated on industry trends, fellowship models, and emerging practices to optimize program design and delivery.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program coordinators, administrators, and communications staff, to ensure the seamless integration of fellowship programs within the organization’s overall strategy and objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., project management, business administration, social sciences)
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in the context of fellowship or leadership development programs
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets and allocate resources effectively
- Proficiency in project management tools and software
- Analytical mindset with the ability to track project progress and evaluate outcomes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirement
