Editorial Intern

Minority Africa is always searching for periodical Editorial Interns to join the Editorial Team and work with the editors to commission journalists, edit stories, and prepare them for publication.

The ideal applicant would be a practicing and early career journalist who is passionate about social justice has a great news sense, is a good writer, and is on the lookout for a newsroom in which they can extend the wealth of their experience by taking on an editorial position.

The editorial internship lasts for three months with a possibility of extension depending on need. Interns will be paid a stipend.

The intern will collaborate with our editorial team to write and edit news stories, evaluate and commission pitches, FactCheck, create an editorial calendar, work on social media, and produce newsletters.

To complete this application, you will be required to provide a resume, links to your work, and a two-minute video telling us why you’re the best person for this position, why you want to join our team, and what ideal representation of minorities in media looks like for you.

This position is part-time and remote though the majority of our team is based across Africa and works in that time zone.

There is no deadline to apply for this and internship applications are considered on a rolling basis. This means that you might be offered an internship at a period later than when you apply.
