Patricia Sia Ngevao

Patricia Sia Ngevao is an award-winning Sierra Leonean journalist and environmental advocate dedicated to advancing social justice, gender equality, and climate resilience. She reports on health, education, agriculture, technology, and environmental issues, shedding light on how inequality shapes the daily realities of communities. Patricia works with Awoko Newspaper and serves as the National Coordinator of the Network of Migrants and Minority Rights Reporters – Sierra Leone (NMMRR-SL), as well as the Acting Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Reporters Union (SLRU). She is also an active member of Women in the Media Sierra Leone (WIMSAL) and the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ). Her work centers on elevating marginalized voices, driving evidence-based advocacy, and examining the intersections of climate change, gender inequality, and community rights. She has trained and mentored young journalists, contributing to stronger ethical reporting and greater newsroom diversity.
